Open level street jazz with Abby Leoncini

Abby has been dancing since the age of 4 at her family’s studio, Carbondale Dance Academy in Pennsylvania. Abby started the studio’s contemporary division and she still teaches and choreographs there periodically.


Abby was also a student at Ballet Theatre of Scranton from the age of 7-18, where she was principal soloist and was trained by Ballet Master Henry Danton, one of the original surviving members of the Sandler’s Wells Ballet, which is now The Royal Ballet .


Abby continued her dance education in college as a dance major at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After college, she began her career as a professional dancer with Simon-Will Entertainment, a Las Vegas based dance company that specializes in Tribute Shows. She was an ensemble dancer in several Tribute Shows and was promoted to Dance Captain.


Following her years with Simon-Will, Abby was hired by Norwegian Cruise Lines. She traveled the world for 7 years as a dancer and was also promoted to Dance Captain. While traveling overseas, Abby was cast in the show “Elements” choreographed by Broadway star Patti Wilcox and a brand new show, “Blazin’ Boots” where she was afforded the opportunity to work with Chase Benz, choreographer for Britney Spears.


Abby is also a professionally trained aerialist. She studied for 3 years with The Toronto Circus School of the Arts. She has performed in many Cirque style shows and is proficient in several apparatuses including Spanish Webb, Lyra, Bungee and Silks.

Abby is currently shares her passion for dance through teaching and choreographing throughout the United States. She is beyond excited to share her love of dance with everyone at Powerhouse!

Hermann Apostol is a professional choreographer/dancer for 16+ years of experience:

Jessica Franco is an accomplished dancer/ choreographer from Bucks County, PA. She received her training in New York City while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College. As a professional dancer, she has worked closely with choreographers such as Brian and Scott Nicholson, Dana Foglia, NappyTabs, Tony Testa, Matt Cady, Liana Blackburn, Megan Lawson, Wes Veldink, Mandy Moore, and Michele Assaf.

Most notably, she has performed around the world on Ariana Grande's Honey Moon World Tour, and throughout the states on The Billboard Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and Coachella for headliner Ariana Grande. She was featured in music videos by Vance Joy and Fancy Hagood and is featured on Tezoro's Floorwork instructional DVD's Volume I and II. Jessica has had the pleasure of being the Assistant Choreographer for Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman World Tour, and her work as an assistant choreographer can be seen in Ariana's performances on The Voice, Jimmy Kimmel, American Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, Dancing With The Stars, and more. She is so excited to continue to work, create, and perform all over the world!

Jenny De Tore is the Creator and Director of Powerhouse Dance.  She is a native of South Jersey, where she currently lives with her son and husband.  Jenny created Powerhouse Dance to provide an outlet for adult dancers to have an opportunity to continue dancing in an empowering, challenging, high energy environment.  She is passionate about making sure dancers never stop pursuing their love of dance, and she is so excited to see you all working so hard at achieving your dance dreams!

In addition to choreographing and teaching for Powerhouse Dance, Jenny has recently been a guest choreographer & instructor for the Drexel University Dance Team, the Philadelphia Soulmates, Shawnee High School's Dance Team (Medford, New Jersey), TNT Gymnastics (Maple Shade, New Jersey), Dancing with the Cherry Hill Stars, Flex Force Training, and Riva Health and Wellness Center.

Jenny’s formal training began when she was 9 years old at Today's Dance Center in Medford, New Jersey.  While studying at the University of Florida, Jenny was co-captain of the Dazzlers Dance Team and was a member of and choreographer for the Floridance dance company.  After graduating with a graduate degree in accounting, Jenny moved to New York City. While working in the financial industry, she continued her training at Broadway Dance Center.

After 5 years in New York City and a brief stint in Philadelphia, Jenny relocated to South Jersey to be closer to family.  In 2017, Jenny decided to pursue her passion for dance and share it with others by creating Powerhouse Dance. Jenny has always felt her most powerful, happy, and strong self while dancing, and she has loved watching the Powerhouse community grow!

Open level hip hop with Dana Tavares

Dana Tavares is originally from Peoria, IL where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance at Illinois State University.  While attending ISU, Dana was a four-year member of the Redline Express Dance Team, and also danced in the Arena Football League for three years. 

Dana relocated to Philadelphia and became a five year member and two year Captain of the Sixers Dancers.  She has also danced back up for Jon Bon Jovi & Chubby Checker, performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and premiered in videos of local artists.

Throughout the tristate area, Dana has choreographed for studios, high school dance teams, Temple University's Diamond Gem Dance Team, and the Philadelphia Sixers Dance Team. Dana served as the Co Director & Choreographer for the Philadelphia Sixers Junior Dance Team for five seasons. Dana is the Owner and Director of the Philly Phresh Crew hip hop performance team, as well as a recurring Instructor at Powerhouse Dance.  She is also a member of the judging panel for Cue the Music Dance Competitions and instructor for Elevate Dance Convention.

Amanda Jean (“AJ”) Russo is a dancer and choreographer based in the Philadelphia area. She has danced professionally in the sports industry for the Philadelphia KiXx, All Pro Dancers, and the Philadelphia Soulmates for which she was a captain for two seasons and was also chose to represent the Soul at the Arena Bowl XXV in New Orleans.

Amanda was also the Director and Choreographer for the first dance team in the Major League Ultimate, the Philadelphia Fly Girls. Amanda was also named the Director and Choreographer for the Philadelphia Honeybees Dance Team, for the PHiladelphia Yellow Jackets arena football team.

Amanda has choreographed and coached many junior dance teams for the AFL, NBA and MLB in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. We are so excited to have her at Powerhouse!

Nicole Stephens is the Coach & Choreographer for the brand new Atlantic City AFL team’s dance team.  She is a native of South Jersey where she has studied a range of dance forms including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, modern, hip hop, and acro-gymnastics for over 25 years. She graduated from the Southern New Jersey Academy of Performing Arts, where she majored in dance.  She continued dancing at Morgan State University where she performed on the marching band’s dance line.  She continued her education at Stockton University where she was a member of the All Star dance team.

Nicole holds numerous performance credits, including: the Atlantic City Card Sharks, Philadelphia KiXX, and Philadelphia 76ers dance teams. She has also performed and trained with the Atlantic Contemporary Ballet Theatre, Cygnus Performing Arts Academy, and The Performing Arts Theatre of Hammonton. Nicole has choreographed many projects in the South Jersey area including the Miss Atlantic City Pageant. In Atlantic City, Nicole performed in the Las Vegas show “Voices” at the Tropicana Casino, and in Maxine Nightengale’s “Disco Lady” at the Resorts Casino.

Nicole is a recurring dancer in the production “Elvis-The King in Concert” at Casino Rama in Canada. She is also a dancer in “The Burlesque Show” at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, and has been part of the cast for 6 years. Nicole has most recently performed in the Motown production hit, “Motor City Live” at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City and the MGM Casino in National Harbor. Nicole is currently a dance instructor, choreographer, and competition team director at Paul Morris DanceXplosion in Hammonton, NJ where she has been a part of the teaching staff since 2003.

Angelica is currently in her second year dancing professionally in the Philadelphia sports industry. She is a graduate of West Chester University where she was the captain of the nationally ranked West Chester University Dance Team.  She also teaches at local dance studios, and was one of our PRO dancers at our Pro Prep Workshop.

Angelica has been dancing for 20 years and is trained in all styles of dance, but especially enjoys hip-hop and contemporary.

We are thrilled to have LaVon Patterson back at Powerhouse! Don’t let LaVon’s chill, laid back personality fool you… he brings a highly charged, power-packed energy to his choreography and dancing every time!

LaVon, originally from Philadelphia, started his journey with dance at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan. To further his skills and education, he attended the Creative and Performing Arts High School in Philadelphia and went on to receive a BFA in Jazz Dance Performance from the University of the Arts.

LaVon had the honor of being the assistant choreographer to Brian Thomas for Michael Jacksons’s 30th Anniversary Special in 2001 at Madison Square Garden, and he has worked with major music artists such as Usher, Destiny’s Child, N Sync, J-Lo, Michael Jackson and more.

His magnetic energy and authentic freestyle has taken him around the world where he shares his love for movement. From dancing in national commercials, movies, to award shows and world tours, LaVon brings tons of experience to the table.

Michelle Figueiredo "Chellie Fig" is a former Captain of the Sixers Dancers and has performed across China on an NBA China tour numerous times. She has danced back-up with artists such as Nico & Vinz, Pharrell Williams, Vanilla Ice, and more. She received a BA in Dance Performance from ARB's Princeton Ballet School and continues to train at Millennium Dance Complex and Broadway Dance Center.

Tony Azzaro (originally from Houston, TX) is a performer & creative producer from the Philadelphia region, and director of Freestyle Dance Academy.

Performance & Choreographer credits include: CBS, Comedy Central, ABC, Alex's Lemonade, various music videos, Campbell's, Philadelphia Fashion Week, Panera, Philadelphia 76ers, Suzanne Roberts Theatre, Philadelphia Union, Penn State University, Temple University, Dancin' On Air, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and more. Tony has created award winning choreography for competitions such as DanceMakers Inc, Starpower, and others. A member of the Bronx Boys Rocking Crew & the UNESCO International Dance Council, he is also a regular guest dance teacher at both Lehigh University & Muhlenberg College. Tony's movement ranges from authentic hip-hop & street movement, to industry & commercial styles.

Master Class with Sloan-Taylor Rabinor

1.5 hour Jazz Funk class, followed by a half hour Q&A session with Sloan-Taylor.

Sloan-Taylor, an esteemed and credited professional dancer, will be teaching a jazz-flavored class.

Sloan has completed 4 world tours for Lady Gaga as a backup dancer, including "The Artpop Ball", "Born This Way", "Monsterball", and "Joann". Currently she is dancing in her first residency for Lady Gaga's Las Vegas show "Enigma".

Sloan has also danced in several music videos including "GUY", "Applause", "Bad Romance", "Telephone" and "John Wayne."

Additional career highlights include: Ellen, X Factor (UK), Oprah, AMA's, Grammy's, Billoard Awards, VMAs, and the The Voice. Sloan has also danced for Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani.  In 2017 Sloan hit the iconic stages of the Superbowl and Coachella.

Sloan grew up and trained in Phoenix, Arizona. At the age of 17, she won her first national title and launched her dance career at The Pulse dance convention as the first Elite Protege. Traveling with The Pulse, Sloan-Taylor assisted choreographers such as Brian Friedman, Laurie Ann Gibson, Wade Robson and Mia Michaels.

Sloan's love for dance took her to Los Angeles in 2009, where her talents took her straight to the top, landing her a spot as a backup dancer for Lady Gaga's iconic performance on the 2009 VMA's.

As a teacher, Sloan travels the U.S. spreading her love for dance and her unique style, most often described as athletic contemporary. She believes in empowering dancers and preparing them for the next step in the professional dance scene.

Open level hip hop with Danielle DiNote

Danielle is the coach and choreographer of the Philadelphia Soulmates Dance Team as well as the Philadelphia Junior Soulmates Dance Team. She has taught at Powerhouse multiple times, and we are thrilled to have her back!

Danielle, a native of South Jersey, began her dance career at the age of three, growing through the levels as well as performing and competing as a Company Member at DANCE! By Debra DiNote. She was awarded many awards at National Competitions including Judges Stand Out Award, Triple Threat Award and was featured in the Dance Spirit Magazine. Danielle graduated from The University of the Arts with a CFA in dance performance. In the summer before graduating Danielle was an Intern at Broadway Dance Center in New York City dancing over 24 hours per week and was a member of their office staff.

After graduation Danielle ventured back to New York City where she had the opportunity to perform with Ne Yo, Kelsey Grammar, Lady Sovereign and Dr. Oz. She also worked at Broadway Dance Center as well as working with Dance Temp Agency  teaching dance education throughout North Jersey and New York. Once returning home to South Jersey Danielle began teaching at DANCE! By Debra DiNote where she now runs the business with her Mother and Sister.  Danielle was a member of the Philadelphia Soul Dance Team in 2013.

Danielle loves giving back to her community through dance. She takes extra pride in DANCE! for A Cure...a benefit performance that directly benefits the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Oncology Department.

Kelli Moshen - Founder & Artistic Director of Project Moshen, a Performing Arts Non-Profit & Philadelphia's only all female Jazz Dance Company. 

Kelli holds a BFA in Jazz Dance from the University of the Arts, and her work includes: APAP NYC (Association of Performing Arts Professionals), Dumbo Dance Festival, Philly Fringe, "Come Together" Dance Festival, Philadelphia Mutter Museum, Philadelphia Flower Show, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers, Morris Animal Refuge, and more. Under the direction of Kelli, Project Moshen produces four original shows per year, provides community outreach programs, workshops for studios & universities (such as Villanova University), and more. Moshen's mission is to spread her passion, creativity, strength & knowledge of jazz dance to the Philadelphia community, while inspiring young women everywhere.

Kelli has also worked alongside acclaimed choreographers such as Rennie Harris, Ronen Koresh, Melissa Rector, Scott Jovovich, Crystal Fraizer and Samuel Reyes.

Open level class with Todd Munoz

Todd is a Philadelphia based hip-hop dancer who started dancing at the age of 19. He is the co-owner of Beat Addikts United, Inc, a community initiative that unites young hip hop dancers in our area. Todd is also the founder and director of DelAWARENESS, a dance charity event that raises funds and awareness for autism.

Todd was a featured dancer in the film, “Silver Linings Playbook”, and in MTV’s Promposal. He regularly choreographs for the University of Delaware Dance Team, as well as the Temple University Diamond Gems dance team. Todd previously choreographed for the Junior Sixers Dancers as well.

*MASTER CLASS* Hip Hop with Mark "Smart Mark" Boston

Mark is the original owner and director of I Am Phresh ( @iamphresh_ ) Hip-hop dance company and academy. He has worked with Chris Brown, Ciara, Lil Dicky, Eve, Nick Cannon and more. He is know for being apart of the street dance culture and commercial dance industry. He has also choreography for “So you think you can dance”, 4X World of Dance Winners, Season 2 of MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew”.

Mark has also traveled and judge for the World Of Dance Tour.

His goal is to train and bring the best out in dancers, by helping them achieve their dreams. So far his Phresh dancers have traveled the world and worked with the biggest names in the industry, like Beyonce, Justin Bieber, J. Lo, Camila Cabello, Gwen Stefani,  Macklemore and more. Phresh being recognized all over because of their hard work. If you think hip-hop in Philly there’s no way you can’t mention Phresh. He believe’s Philly has some of the best dancers and the world is about to see.

Open level HIP HOP class with Bria Waton

Bria Walton is a central Jersey native where she started dancing at the age of 8. Though Bria started her training with hip hop classes, she quickly join a competition team where she studied many styles of dance including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and hip hop. After graduation, she continued her hip hop training at Academy of Phresh in Philadelphia under the direction of Smart Mark Boston. Bria’s professional credits include Good Morning America, Pharrell Williams Sephora Fragrance Launch, and she was recently a featured dancer in Todrick Hall’s music video for his visual album. Bria has completed two seasons with Introspective Movement Project, under the direction of Sonia Pennington, where she was able to dance for Matthew Schuler at the Wawa Welcome to America Festival. In 2014, Bria completed one of her biggest projects where she was the co-choreographer for an Off Broadway production in NYC called Sound Syndrome. Bria recently moved back from Los Angeles and is traveling around the country teaching the next generation of dancers!
