The ultimate goal of Powerhouse is to inspire, empower and connect people through DANCE. We want to give you the outlet and opportunity to express yourself through dance, in a welcoming, supportive atmosphere.
It is never too late to start dancing again.

You MUST do what makes you feel ALIVE. If that is dance, well, then you must dance.
What We Offer:

Open Level Classes:
Every Wednesday at 7:30PM at Artists in Motion Dance Studio (1724 Marlton Pike E., Cherry Hill, NJ)

Open to dancers of all levels, however, classes are taught at an intermediate-advanced pace.
Drop-in or sign up on the MindBody app to reserve your spot.
$15 drop-in rate. Class passes periodically available on MindBody.
Different choreographer/instructor each week. Typically street jazz, jazz funk or hip hop style.
Approximately 15 to 40 people in each class.
Small Group Sessions:
Beginner small group:
Learn how to dance in a safe, small setting! Semi private dance sessions at a a beginner level, in a street jazz/jazz funk style.
2 to 4 people per session. $25 drop-in rate. Must register on MindBody app. Sundays in November at 11AM.
This class is for someone who has never taken a dance class, someone who has taken dance class but a very long time ago, OR someone who has recently taken dance class but feels they want to refocus on the basics.
In this class we will:
Focus on learning basic dance movements, and the correct execution of those movements.
Learn a short combination to learn how to put together sequences of movements and remember choreography.
Work on rhythm and musicality, and learn how to match movement to specific accents and beats in the music.
Learn slower routines at a slower pace, with the movements broken down very clearly and specifically.
This class is a semi-private, small group session, in a street jazz/jazz funk or hip hop style (varies by class).
2 to 4 people per session. $25 drop-in rate. Must register on MindBody app. Sundays in November at 10AM.
This class is for dancers with significant dance training, who are experienced in learning choreography and want to:
Learn in a smaller group setting.
Receive individual customized feedback.
Take their dancing and performance to the next level.
Gain confidence to feel more comfortable in the larger group classes.
In this class we will:
Work on choreography retention.
Learn more intricate sequences of movement.
Learn at a faster pace to faster rhythms.
Focus on QUALITY of movement, style and performance.
Focus on musicality.
Private 1-on-1 Sessions
These are one-on-one sessions where you will receive 100% focus and attention. Learn at your own pace and work on your own specific goals while receiving customized feedback.
$75 for a one-hour session for one person. Inquire for rates for multiple people. 3-session pack available on MindBody ($65/session with the purchase of a 3-session pack). Sessions are held at Artists in Motion. Rate includes small studio rental.
Choreography & Guest Instruction:
Wedding choreography (couple’s first dance or group dance)
Dance team routines
Guest teaching for local studios, teams, gyms, etc.

About Jenny De Tore, Director/Instructor/Choreographer
Jenny is a native of South Jersey, where she currently lives with her son and husband. In addition to choreographing and teaching for Powerhouse Dance, Jenny has recently been a guest choreographer/teacher for the Drexel University Dance Team, the Philadelphia Soulmates, Shawnee High School's Dance Team (Medford, New Jersey), Pennsport School of Dance, Dancing with the Cherry Hill Stars, & Flex Force Training.
Jenny began training when she was 9 years old at Today's Dance Center in Medford, New Jersey. During Jenny's early years, she attended summer intensive programs at Ballet Met in Ohio, and Virginia School of the Arts. During high school Jenny moved to Naples, Florida and became a member and co-captain of her high school's dance team and dance line.
Later, at the University of Florida, Jenny was co-captain of the Dazzlers Dance Team and was a member of and choreographer for the Floridance dance company. During her college years, she also took master classes from world renowned choreographers such as Brian Friedman, Cris Judd, Lauriann Gibson, Wade Robson, and Shane Sparks at various dance conventions.
After graduating with a masters degree in accounting, Jenny moved to New York City to pursue a career in accounting. While working, Jenny continued training at Broadway Dance Center.
After 5 years in New York City and a brief stint in Philadelphia, Jenny relocated back to South Jersey to be closer to family. In 2017, Jenny decided to pursue her passion for dance and share it with others by creating Powerhouse Dance. Jenny has always felt her most powerful, happy, and strong self while dancing. She wants to share the same feeling with you, and hopes you will join her in class!
