Ang Bua

Angelica Bua has been dancing for 22 years and is trained in all styles of dance, but especially enjoys hip-hop and contemporary. As a graduate of West Chester University, she was the captain of the nationally ranked West Chester University Dance Team.

Angelica is in her 6th year dancing professionally in the Philadelphia sports entertainment industry. She began her post-college career dancing for the National Lacrosse League (NLL) on the Philadelphia Wings where she became captain. Angelica then became a member of Squad 76 and can be seen dancing there today on television and at the Wells Fargo Center.

Along with being a part of the team, Angelica has had an opportunity to choreograph for the Squad as well. She has also choreographed a Philly Pretzel Factory commercial!

Angelica’s training at Broadway Dance Center in New York City has connected her with well renowned Choreographers in the dance industry, and she also teaches and choreographs for local dance studios and dance teams as well as Squad76. Above all else, Angelica's very passionate and her teaching style emphasizes confidence within a no stress environment for all of her classes.

Angelica was a Pro at our last 4 Pro Prep Workshops, and we cannot wait to have her back!

A note from Ang:

“I teach both Hip-Hop and Contemporary here at Powerhouse and my goal is for both styles is for dancers to give your body, mind, and soul just what it needs. I want you to leave feeling better than you did when you walked in, I do my best to make the space a positive and inspiring outlet that allows you to learn, grow and bust a move!

When it comes to Hip-Hop my style incorporates a harder hitting Dance Team style, but also has moments to groove and find your musicality. It is very much a choreography-based class with different Hip-Hop elements I have learned along my dance journey. I aim to teach a 35-45 second combo in each class.

As for Contemporary, I say it is a similar feel with some harder hitting moments that match the music, but the ability to breath and milk the movement and really live your best dance life. There are typically technical movements and floor work, but I always provide options!

All in all, throughout all our moving and grooving, try not to take life too seriously while you learn the steps and enjoy!”
