Class Description: Open to dancers 18+. This 4-week Pure Beginner Turn Technique Series is designed for dancers who are brand new to turns or who want to rebuild their foundation from the ground up. Each week builds progressively so you can develop strength, stability, and confidence without feeling overwhelmed. The goal isn’t to perfect your turns in four weeks, it’s to understand the mechanics and build a strong foundation so you know how to turn properly! No prior experience necessary.

Week 1- We’ll focus on turn foundations and everything you need to understand before completing a full rotation.

Week 2 - We’ll apply those fundamentals to learn inside and outside jazz turns, with an emphasis on direction, balance, and spotting.

Week 3 - We’ll explore traveling turns, including chainé turns and piqué turns.

Week 4 - We’ll review everything we’ve learned and practice executing turns through targeted exercises and drills.

Level Description: This is a Pure Beginner level series. Zero dance experience is expected and welcomed for this level. If you have never danced or you feel like you have two left feet, this level is for you! In this level, you will learn the basic and foundational steps of the style. Class will be taught at a slow enough pace to allow dancers an opportunity to grasp movements and concepts. There will be a clear breakdown and instruction of movement. Learning fundamentals will be the focus of class, as opposed to learning choreography. However, some choreography may be taught at this level. If so, it will be with minimal complexity and slower tempos. We typically only offer this level of class within a multi-week series, as opposed to in a drop-in, single class format.
