What Powerhouse dancers are saying about Jenny:

“Jenny has created a great community and outlet for adults to continue dancing. I look forward to going to each class and have met so many great people since I started!”

“Jenny is so welcoming and whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, she’s happy to see you there. I couldn’t recommend this place more.”

“Powerhouse and Jenny are a GODSENT for former dancers who have outgrown the children's studios but still hold a passion for dance. I attended my first class last night, and am completely HOOKED. Jenny knows each dancer by name, and builds a genuine relationship with each one.”

“It is always a great feeling seeing her welcoming face when I arrive for classes. Without exaggeration, I can’t help but smile.”

“Super supportive of all levels and goals.”

At the front desk:

“It's like also like "Cheers," Jenny knows names. It makes you feel like it's not just a place to dance but a dance home.”

“Zach and Jenny, both at check-ins and as instructors, are such a joy to be around. It’s always a great feeling seeing either of their welcoming faces when I arrive for classes. Without exaggeration, I can’t help but smile.”

Jenny De Tore

Jenny is the Founder of Powerhouse Dance.  As much as she loves dancing, she thrives while helping others live their best lives through doing what they love (dance). She loves connecting people through their mutual passion for movement, and is committed to providing a place for adults to continue to BE DANCERS and grow and learn.

Jenny created Powerhouse Dance in 2017 to fill her own need for an adult dance class. She wanted a class that was challenging but not overwhelming, that incorporated new choreography every week, in a positive, welcoming and supportive environment.

As a result, she created Powerhouse.

As a kid in south Jersey, Jenny’s earliest memories of dance are choreographing with her sister and friends every chance she could. Her parents instilled in her a love of music, which translated into a passion for moving to music.

She began formal dance training at age 9 at Today’s Dance Center in Medford, New Jersey. After moving to Naples, Florida Jenny joined her high school dance team and subsequently her college dance team and company at the University of Florida.

After graduating from the University of Florida with Bachelors and Masters degrees in accounting, Jenny moved to New York City where she worked for a public accounting firm. After 4 years, she relocated to Philadelphia, still working in accounting. After getting married, she relocated back to the South Jersey area and began Powerhouse Dance.

Jenny is so thankful for the dancers and instructors who make Powerhouse what it is. She has always felt her most powerful, happy, and strong self while dancing and loves to see the same for others!
